About me

I'm Harry Young, a Perth-based artist working across digital art and sculpture in a bizarre marriage of technology and tradition.

Formerly working exclusively in the digital world of graphic design and digital art, I have branched out and fallen in love with concrete sculpture and creating works that have a strong physical presence.

Much of my recent work has been focused on Perth's unique architectural heritage, particularly the homes of Iwan Iwanoff. My 'concrete portraits' series aims to capture these buildings in a new, more tangible way; celebrating overlooked details and encouraging a deeper appreciation for the brilliant design elements that shape our city.

Although I'm certainly not finished with my architectural series, I am keen to take the techniques and methods I have learnt, from digital design, mould-making, precise casting etc, and apply it to more abstract forms in the very near future.
