Digital art print. UV reactive ink. UV lights.

"I Live. As Alice. I Die." is a captivating digital art piece that pays homage to the iconic singer Alice Glass, best known for her electrifying performances as the frontwoman of Crystal Castles. Created in my signature style of smooth digital painting and bold linework, this artwork seeks to capture the introspective essence of Alice, offering a glimpse into her inner world.

But there's more to this piece than meets the eye. Printed with an additional layer of UV ink, the artwork takes on a mesmerizing quality when viewed under UV light. Suddenly, Alice's image transforms, revealing an X-ray-like depiction of her skull, a haunting yet mesmerizing glimpse beneath the surface.

To enhance this effect, the frame features built-in UV lights that automatically flick on and off, adding an extra dimension of intrigue to the viewing experience. As the lights dance across the artwork, Alice's dual nature – both as a performer and as a vulnerable human being – is brought to light in a truly unique way.

To my surprise and delight, "I Live. As Alice. I Die." was honoured with the award for Best Work on Paper in the Joondalup Community Art Exhibition in 2015.

Please note that this piece is not available for sale, nor are any prints. It is a personal project born out of admiration and respect and will remain a one-off. (Although I am 100% taking Alice herself liking my Instagram post as a sign of approval, it still would feel right selling prints.)

This piece is more than just a digital portrait – it's a celebration of artistic experimentation and a tribute to the captivating allure of Alice Glass. Whether you're a fan or simply appreciate innovative artistry, this piece invites you to explore the intersection of music, technology, and visual expression.
